There’s a teaser or preview in the Pet Society facebook page of a new item that we will be able to grow in our gardens.  It’s what looks to be a tomato.  Although I’ve confirmed through the Pet Society forums that this item isn’t available yet, it seems that this will be a new item which we will be able to grow randomly if planted in our gardens.

Now the bigger question will be if this tomato will grow on the ground as a vegetable or on a tree as a fruit.  After doing some research, it’s known that tomatos are grown from vines, not trees, just like grapes which makes the tomato a type of berry which then makes the tomato a fruit.  This of course is still highly debatable.  If Pet Society decides to make it a fruit, how would they design the tree if they supposedly grow from vines?  Maybe they’ll create a new vine tree?
