Pet Society Cooking Feature

Pet Society Mayor Newsletter- Cooking

There’s a new feature in Pet Society and its cooking! Yes, if you’ve ever played Restaurant City or Cafe World then learning this should be as simple as pie. First off, if you login to Pet Society today you’ll notice the newsletter from the mayor explaining the new feature. Also in your chest you’ll see a shiny new mini-oven as well as a recipe book icon right next to your sticker book album.

Paborito and his microwave

Before you start cooking you will need to drag your mini-oven and place it somewhere in your home. Next, click on the recipe book icon to open the recipe book, you can also open the recipe book by clicking on the mini-oven, the recipe book will show you instructions on how to cook as well as a menu of the different meals you can prepare.

Recipe Book_1

The first item on the first page of the recipe book is the Vegetable Soup, the time it takes to cook and profit you’ll make if you sell it are also shown. Below the soup are the Giant Hotdog and King Burger, in order to start cooking these items and other items you will first have to pay to learn how to cook them. To learn how to cook the Giant Hotdog costs 45 coins and to learn how to cook the King Burger costs 400 coins. You will not be able to see how much it costs to cook the meal or the profit you will make unless you learn the dish first.

To start cooking a dish simply click on the cook button right below the dish you wish to cook. The price of how much it costs will be indicated as well as the ingredients needed. Once you click the cook button the meal will automatically start cooking inside the microwave. If you hover your cursor over the mini-oven or the recipe book icon, you will be shown how much time you have left until the dish is done. You can also find out how much time your meal has left if you open up the recipe book. If you choose to cancel the cooking of a dish you can do so by opening the recipe book and clicking cancel.

Microwave ready

Vegetable Soup cooked

When your meal is ready, to retrieve it, you can either click on the mini-oven or click collect on the recipe book to retrieve your dish. You only have a certain allowed time to pull out your meal, if you wait to long your meal will end up burned. So make sure you keep track of your cooking time to prevent this from happening. The amount of time you’re given to retrieve your cooked meal is the same amount of time it takes to cook the meal. So if you’re cooking vegetable soup that takes 10 minutes to cook, you’ll only have 10 minutes to retrieve the vegetable soup once it’s cooked otherwise it’ll burn. Also, once your meal is finished cooking, you’ll notice the ingredients purchased to cook the meal will now be in your chest.

Vegetable Soup Burned

If you burn your meal you will have a burned food item which you can’t eat nor sell. You can however recycle it for 10 points. You can’t even use it for bait as fishing that’s how bad it is.

As you scroll through the pages of your recipe book you’ll notice locked dishes. You have to cook a certain amount of dishes to unlock the next page and level up. There are a total of 20 pages of dishes and as you unlock pages you also earn titles such as Novice Chef, Dish Washer and eventually A list celebrity chef.

I noticed that the new food when cooked is pretty huge compared to the food we get at the food store. Paborito needed all his strength to get a bite out of that giant hotdog! Obviously the food you prepare is edible however, just like homegrown fruit; the goal is to profit and sell your cooked food and to not eat it as you can purchase cheaper food at the food store which is just as satisfying for your pet.

I think cooking is another great new feature although it can prove costly especially if you end up burning a dish that costs an arm and a leg to learn and prepare. Hopefully the meals in the later pages will have a much higher profit as this would add another great means to accumulating coins. So have any of you tried your hand at cooking yet? How did you do?

@Chumley, To sell cooked for or any other item, just drag the cooked item to the cash register that you see in your chest.
