The Pet Society Advent Calendars come in two designs, the Gingerbread House Advent Calendar and the Holiday Tree Advent Calendar. If you purchase one of these calendars, it will give you a free small gift each day from December 1st through December 24! Here are some important details to know about the Advent Calendar:
- The cost of an Advent Calendar is 3500 coins and it is available in two different designs at the Furniture Store.
- You will only get 1 gift, no matter how many calendars you own. ie. Just buy one advent calendar unless you want to add more just for decoration.
- You must display your Advent Calendar in your room to receive the free gift, you won’t receive a free gift if it’s placed in your chest.
- You will need to sign in and play each day to collect your free gift, if you don’t sign in for one day you will lose the gift given for that day.
- If you’re worried that you haven’t received your gift, Pet Society hands out the gift depending on your time zone. When the clock hits midnight in your area, that’s when the gift will be distributed ie. Some people will receive gifts earlier than you, these are people who live in earlier time zones. Just be patient!
- Make sure the time zone and clock settings on your computer are correctly set.
- In order to receive your gift you must visit the room where your Advent Calendar is displayed. If your Advent Calendar isn’t in your main room, just go to the room where it’s located to receive your free gift.
- The numbered date for each day will be removed from the calendar for that particular day. So don’t worry about why your numbers are disappearing on your calendar.
- You can gift the Advent Calendar to other friends but you can’t gift the free gifts given from the Advent Calendar. You also can’t sell the free gifts or recycle them, you’re basically stuck with them for now.
- The gifts given from the Advent Calendar seem to be Christmas Tree decorations, the first gift for December 1st was a Gingerbread Man Ornament. The Gingerbread Man Ornament can’t be placed on a shelf or chair, if you try to place it there it simply falls to the ground. It is meant as decoration just for a possible future Christmas Tree item. Some players have mentioned that it works on the 2008 Christmas Tree which isn’t available anymore. Although there isn’t a Christmas Tree available for purchase yet, I’m pretty sure there will be one released in the near future.
- After Christmas the Advent Calendar and free gifts you received from them will not magically disappear, you will still have them and continue to use them as house décor just like any other item.
So what do you think of the Advent Calendars? Pretty cool item or not? I personally like the Advent Calendar and the free small gifts it comes with, although you can’t sell the free items, the fun and surprise each day you get from the free gifts is a great experience in it’s own. I’m pretty sure Pet Society will come out with a Christmas Tree item in the near future, otherwise that’ll leave lots of pets with Christmas decorations scattered across their floors come Christmas time! However, it’s the Holiday Season and what better way to celebrate by receiving gifts and being gracious about it!

Gingerbread Man Ornament

Ok tiny Gingerbread Man, what to do with you for now?
I just came across a fellow neighbor, named Bielzibub, he apparently has a 2008 Christmas Tree with the Gingerbread Man Ornament hanging at the top. So here’s an image of the Gingerbread Man Ornament in action.

Yes it’s quite expensive at 3500 coins, can’t wait for the xmas tree to be released so I can hang up those free gift decorations.

No problem, thanks for displaying your tree.
Is it from Christmas 2008? If so how much did you buy it for back in 08?

I’m so disappointed about the advent calendar…
I thought I would get nice Cristmas decoration, but for 3500 coins (way to expensive, compared to what you get back) I only recieve small, boring christmas gadgets I cannot sell, gift, delete or put on a shelf or something.
I don’t wanna be stucked with 24 small gifts.
What’s the purpose of giving the pets such useless things?
I’m really disappointed, and I regret my purchase.
The only plus is that the calendar is a nice decoration….

What I dislike most in Pet Society are items we are stuck with (can’t sell, gift, or recycle) just like the nannybot battery, in order to get rid of it we have to buy the nannybot to use the battery all up then it vanishes away. But unlike the battery it seems we’ll be stuck with these ornaments, we’ll probably have to purchase a tree for 5000 coins just to hang them on so they we won’t have 24 items lying on the floor, unless you want 24 more items in your chest.

There may be a glitch in the advent calendars. You can log in any day and rec eive the gift for the days, but if you then gift it to someone, the other person also gets tyhe same gift of the day. So if you are short of cash, it may be a good idea to pool in money with friends.

I got one…but I don’t have the Christmas Tree, so I hope that Playfish will release a 2009 one so we can hang our ornaments on there. For now, they’re just resting on the floor, which is the place I absolutely dislike to put my items.

3500 rip off u cant even sell your gifts
December 8th, 2009 at 5:31 am
The funny thing is now it’s selling for 3000 coins since there are days missed if you buy it now. I agree, too bad we can’t sell the ornaments, what are we gonna do with them after xmas? Just store them in our chest?

Its way too expensive!
@Paborito
I agree.I want to sell those little useless ornaments and tear them into pieces !

@Reallyangry, lol I couldn’t agree with you more. What I did was just put all my xmas deco including a tree with all the ornaments in my garden which I don’t visit much anyway so I don’t have to include all the ornaments in my chest.
